Lactation Care

At Forth, our IBCLCs offer personalized lactation and postpartum support, addressing breastfeeding challenges, infant feeding, and nutrition. We provide emotional care and practical postpartum recovery strategies, helping families transition smoothly and confidently nurture their babies.

These visits are best for:

  • Those who are making milk or breastfeeding for the first time and need foundational knowledge on the process

  • Prenatal breastfeeding education

  • Painful or shallow latch

  • Pumping, supplementation and bottle feeding

  • Support returning to work

  • Oversupply, low supply, or milk transfer concerns

  • Feeding multiples or NICU graduates

  • Weaning

  • Those who have experienced a loss

These visits may be covered by insurance, if you are part of participating in-network plans.

Breastfeeding Medicine

In addition to IBCLC care, we offer expanded lactation care and breastfeeding medicine that does not always fit into the mold of standard reproductive care. This allows us to quickly and efficiently treat patients experiencing medical complications associated with lactation and making milk.

These visits are best for those:

  • Experiencing extremely low or extreme oversupply of milk supply despite standard management

  • With symptoms of mastitis or thrush

  • Interested in discussing prescriptions, such as birth control and those needed to manage chronic conditions while lactating

  • Having issues weaning or weaning to prepare for upcoming IVF cycles

This is an out-of-pocket service with a provided superbill for possible reimbursement.

We’ll talk through timelines, strategies to manage comfort and supply, and emotional support during the transition.
